Brazilian President-Elect Jair Bolsonaro said he will forge partnerships with Israel to benefit Brazil’s Northeast with water desalination projects.

On his Twitter page yesterday (Dec. 25), Bolsonaro wrote the future minister of Science and Technology, Marcos Pontes, will visit desalination facilities and patent offices in the Middle Eastern country.

A pilot installation is expected to be implemented in the Northeast in January to remove brackish water from wells, and desalinate, store, and distribute it to local family farmers.

“We’re also discussing with the Israeli ambassador and a specialized company the testing of technology that produces water from air humidity in schools and hospitals in the area. We’ll also be able to negotiate the installation of a plant in the Northeast to sell this equipment,” he posted on Twitter.
