Aécio Neves, who is running for president under Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB), voted at a school in Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais, where he used to be a governor. In the morning, he arrived in a van, alongside his party's local candidates running for governor and senator. As soon as he arrived, he made a “V” for victory, and had to edge his way into the polling room through a large crowd of journalists and ers awaiting his arrival.

In a press statement, he said his campaign turned out the way he had wanted it, i.e. “bringing forth a project for Brazil”, and went on to comment on the shift shown in recent polls where he ranked second for the first time in the run up to the elections. “It could have been that the change as a new candidate appeared took voters more time to settle for their original votes,” he said, referring to the plan crash that killed candidate Eduardo Campos and led his running mate, Marina Silva, to take over as presidential candidate.

Rather, it will be distinguished for its predictability, so that we can regain trust in the country and the investors may again partner with us in developing our country,” he promised.
