Confidence in Brazil being restored, Temer tells Spain prime minister


The meeting at the Planalto presidential palace was also attended by Spanish businesspeople
During a Monday (Apr. 24) meeting with Spanish head of government Mariano Rajoy, Brazilian President Michel Temer highlighted the reforms the Brazilian government is trying to implement. Temer proved confident in the overhauls and said investors and consumers' confidence in the country is being restored.
“We're carrying on with the reforms—by means of dialog, by means of fiscal responsibility, coupled with social responsibility. Entrepreneurs will be even more sure than I am when they say the confidence of investors and consumers is coming back,” Temer said.
The meeting at the Planalto presidential palace was also attended by Spanish businesspeople. To this audience, Temer said the government has the firm from the National Congress. The government and its ers in Congress have convened almost on a daily basis to make sure the pension reform is approved. In exchange for a significant number of votes for the overhaul, the government made a few compromises, like the minimum age for women and the transition rule. The matter is expected to be voted on on May 2, after lawmaker Arthur Maia's report is concluded and brought before the house.
