Brazil: Alckmin announces names of 16 more transition working groups

Brazil`s vice-President-elect and general coordinator of the transition team Geraldo Alckmin announced on Wednesday (Nov. 16) the names of the coordinators of 16 working groups that will act in the transition of the government of President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
The technical groups are agriculture, livestock and supply; science, technology, and innovation; social communication; agrarian development; regional development; justice and public security; environment; mining and energy; fishing; original peoples; social security; foreign affairs; health; labor; transparency, integrity, and control; and tourism.
Alckmin also announced the name of professor Gleide Andrade to be part of the organization group for the inauguration ceremony. The coordinator of the group is the future First Lady Rosângela da Silva, known as Janja. Ambassador Fernando Igreja was also announced as head of the transition ceremony.
By December 10, the team shall release the final report with the diagnoses made during the period. The report should include information such as the structure and organization of the government, main problems, ongoing contracts, and emergency measures that should be taken at the beginning of the next government.
The head of the Workers' Party (PT) Gleisi Hoffmann - Political Articulation coordinator of the transition - said the of each working group will be announced today (17). They are of the parties that make up the political base of the transition and will act in the survey of matters that are in progress in the National Congress, related to each theme of the groups.
By Monday (14), the of 14 technical groups had been announced: economy; social development and fight against hunger; industry, commerce and services/small business; women; racial equality; human rights/childhood; planning, budget and management; communications; education; sports; infrastructure; youth; cities; and culture.
